What our trainees say
I cannot recommend GS Driver Training enough!!
Booked in for a one day course for my C1+E and the fantastic Helen helped me pass first time 🥳I found the training offered very supportive, and all of the instructors friendly and easy to speak to. Helen was really clear with instructions, very supportive and very knowledgable!
When booking, I felt like I got a personal experience and they really cared about WHY I wanted my license, to make sure I was taking the best route for me.
Thank you SO MUCH Helen!! You are incredible!!
This company came in and saved the day! After being let down by a company based in Chobham, Hampshire. I was accepted by GS (even though many schools will not take you if you trained elsewhere) I went out with Dave who was a no-nonsense straight down the line kind of guy, he knew his stuff and was firm but not overbearing, his confidence in me made me feel calm and relaxed, after just two hours with Dave in the van I felt very confident to take the test… which I passed!!!!
This was a re-test, my second time around so could have gone either way; although I am convinced it is down to the instructors and the quality vehicles they operate.
Thank you GS; you saved the day!!!!

Frequently asked questions (Capel)
How long does it take to get an HGV licence?
Most learners complete training and tests within 3–8 weeks, depending on medical/theory dates and diary availability.
Do you help with the theory test?
Yes—revision materials, mock exams, and 1-to-1 support are included.
Can I train in the evenings or weekends?
We offer evening and selected weekend slots to suit shift patterns.
Is passing in an automatic OK for my licence?
Yes. Passing in an automatic qualifies you to drive automatic HGVs (industry standard) and does not limit commercial prospects under current DVSA rules.
Do you offer finance or staged payments?
Ask our team about the latest payment options.
