At GS Driver Training, we provide professional training courses to assist you get your HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence. There are two main kinds of licences you can select from-
HGV Class 2 Licence
Lets you drive a wider vehicle over 7.5 tonnes, without a trailer
Ideal for local and regional deliveries
Common jobs- construction, waste management, local delivery driving
HGV Class 1 Licence
Lets you drive a vehicle over 7.5 tonnes with a trailer
Best suited for long-distance driving and heavy-load transport
Offers more job opportunities, including foreign deliveries and long-haul trucking
How to Get Your HGV Licence
Before starting your theory test, you must-
Pass a medical exam– to prove you are right to drive
Get your provisional HGV licence– required to begin training
After that, you will take-
A Theory Test (includes multiple-choice questions and hazard perception videos)
A Practical Driving Course- usually 5 days long, with the final day being your test
